Welcome to Brodie Estate, Martinborough. The home of wonderful pinot noir, olive oil, art and boutique accommodation in the heart of the Wairarapa. Join us at the Cellar Door to taste our wines including the latest releases and some wines that are not available anywhere else. Relax with a platter of specially matched gourmet cheeses and a flight of our wines, or enjoy a glass of wine of your choice, on the Pavilion or on the grass among the wildflowers or under the olive trees. We look foward to seeing you. We are open every day during the summer season except Christmas Day. Now that we are into Autumn the cellar door will be open at weekends or by appointment.
2014 vintage is ready for bottling. It was a great vintage for us. Great flavours in the grapes. Depth of colour was very marked in the ferments. 30% new French barrels were used. This will be another vintage to look forward to. Our Provence style Rose is still available from the Cellar Door or our online shop. Our barrel fermented Chardonnay is also available. The grapes are from a well established Martinborough vineyard.
Platters on the Vineyard
We are serving platters and glasses of wines in the weekends. Enjoy a feast of gourmet delights including specially selected cheeses, olives and freshly baked bread. Sit in the gardens, on the Pavilion or on a rug under the olive trees. Purchase a glass of wine or a bottle to share.
Our Olive oil can be purchased from the Cellar Door - dark green with a bite of pepper. Come and taste. It is delicious.
Midsummer Music at Brodie Estate
Next summer we will have musicians entertaining us on a number of Saturday afternoons, performing in the Pavilion. Join us for a a glass of wine and a cheese platter on the grass. A great way to finish off your tasting tour of Martinborough's boutique wineries.
Sam Kim recently carried out a vertical tasting of our wines. You can read his reviews on our wine page. Here is what he said about our 2011 Brodie Estate pinot noir: ~ It's beautifully elegant and stylish, displaying red/black cherry, floral and subtle spice aromas on the nose. The palate is juicy and delicately flavoured with fine texture and polished tannins, finishing elegantly dry. The wine offers lovely ripe flavours within a sturdy frame, ensuring its graceful development. 93 points and Five Stars.
