Iced Pinot Noir 2016



Pale red colour with slight garnet hues at the heart and some purple on the rim.  This has a moderately full nose with good depth of raspberry bon-bon and hints of blackberries along with dark-red floral notes, unfolding raspberry jam and liqueur elements.  This is soft in expression and gentle in volume, with good presence.  Very sweet to taste and medium-bodied, the palate has rich and luscious raspberry liqueur and dark-red berry flavours with subtle notes of blackberry fruit pastilles.  The mouthfeel is rounded with gently refreshing acidity, and the wine flows smoothly along a fine thread of phenolics and tannin, leading to a sweet’ luscious finish of raspberry jam and liqueur.  This is a sweet, freeze-concentrated Pinot Noir with raspberry confectionary and liqueur flavours on a rounded and smooth palate.  The Brodies recommend drizzling this on strawberries and ice-cream.  Or serve with summer fruits over the next 2-3 years.  Late-picked Pinot Noir, WBP, freeze-concentrated over three cycles, and tank-fermented to 11.8% alc. and 81 g/L RS.  (375 ml)  Raymond Chan: 17.0/20  Mar 2017
